Description
Motor assistance above 25 km/h
The tuning module ensures that the motor support of your eBike is still active at speeds above 25 km/h.
Tuning can be activated and deactivated
You can use a clever on/off sequence for your eBike to optimize the tuning
- activate, deactivate or
- only once for the current ride. After switching off the eBike, the tuning is then off.
The activated tuning is signaled via the speedometer when the eBike is switched on. This means you always know which mode is active.
Real speed modified readable
To ensure that the motor assistance also works above 25 km/h, a lower speed than the actual speed is displayed when tuning is activated:
Below 22 km/h, the real speed is displayed.
Above 22 km/h, mentally move the decimal point displayed in the speedometer one place to the right. The leading 2 on the far left then no longer has any function.
Example: A speed of 32 km/h is displayed as: 23.2 km/h
Advantage: The verifiable average speed always remains inconspicuously below 25 km/h!
Maximum support speed adjustable
You can set the speed up to which the motor should provide assistance. This ranges from 31 to 50 km/h in steps of 1 km/h.
Once the cut-off speed has been reached, the motor assistance is gently reduced.
The speed remains visible even above the set switch-off speed.
Tip: We recommend not riding faster than 35 km/h with the new Smart motors with assistance.
Supported Bosch motors
The brand new Bosch motors of generations 4 and 5 will be supported by the "smart system"from 2022 onwards, provided they do not have ABS and rim/valve magnets . The smart system is also known as Bosch eBike System 3 (BES3):
Generation 4:
- Performance Line CX (BDU374Y)
- Performance Line CX-Race (BDU376Y)
- Performance Line Speed (BDU378Y)
- Performance Line (BDU336Y)
- Cargo Line (BDU374Y)
Generation 5:
- Performance Line CX Gen (BDU384Y)
- Performance Line CX-Race (BDU386Y)
- Performance Line Speed (BDU388Y)
- Cargo Line (BDU384Y)
- Performance Line PX (BDU347Y)
- Performance Line SX (BDU314Y)
- Performance Line (BDU346Y)
- Active Line (BDU334Y)
- Active Line Plus (BDU332Y)
✅ Check: Is the Bosch Smart System available?
This module is only compatible with the Bosch Smart System.
As a rule, the sales documentation or the manufacturer's website for your bicycle will indicate whether it is a Bosch Smart System.
If this is not clearly evident, the best way to identify the system is by looking at the built-in display or control unit.
Typical control units for the Bosch Smart System are:
- SmartphoneGrip (Flow app)
- LED Remote
- System Controller
- Purion 200 / 400
- Kiox 300 / 400C / 500
- Intuvia 100
If one of these units is installed, it is usually a Bosch Smart System.
Purion 400 Smartphone Grip System Controller Purion 200 Mini Remote LED Remote Kiox 300 / 400C / 500 Intuvia 100
Important: Designations such as "Gen4" or "Performance Line (CX)" are not sufficient for identification – the remote/display (e.g., LED Remote, Mini Remote, System Controller, Kiox 300/500, Intuvia 100, Purion 200, SmartphoneGrip) is decisive.
Another indication of a Bosch Smart System is a battery with a capacity of 750 Wh or 800 Wh.
These capacities are used exclusively in the Bosch Smart System.
If you have a Bosch display different from the one shown above, your bike is most likely nota Bosch Smart System. In that case, please choose this solution: Tuning module for Bosch motors without Smart System
⚠️ Important compatibility note: Valve magnet / Rim magnet
For the tuning module to be compatible, an external speed sensor with a connected plug must be present and no ABS system may be installed. In this case, the magnet is usually located on a spoke or on the brake disc.
If no external speed sensor is connected, the speed is usually measured using a rim magnet (valve magnet/RIM magnet) – the module is then not compatible.
This rim magnet is installed as standard on some eBikes, especially those with Bosch Generation 5 motors (BDU38xx).
Example 1: Visible valve magnet (not compatible)
The rim magnet is a small sleeve located directly above the rear wheel valve. If this is present, the tuning module cannot be used:

Example 2: Invisible rim magnet (e.g., on many KTM models)
On some bikes—especially KTMs—the rim magnet is integrated invisibly within the rim.
No rim magnet is visible from the outside.

A visual inspection of the valve alone is therefore not sufficient.
Incompatible due to a wheel rim magnet?
No problem—there’s a suitable alternative solution for these Bosch Smart System models:

🔍 The speed sensor socket on the motor is crucial.
The green/gray connection of the speed sensor on the motor is decisive.
- ✅ Jack occupied (front gray plug) → external speed sensor installed → module compatible

- ❌ Socket closed with blind plug → Rim magnet installed → Module not compatible
👉 Please check before purchasing
Compatibility depends solely on whether the external speed sensor connection is available.

Scope of delivery
- Tuning module
- Cable ties and stickers
- Operating and installation instructions in German, English and Italian

Installation
Installation takes just a few minutes and can also be completely reversed. The tuning module is inserted between the speed sensor and the motor of your pedelec. It is not visible from the outside.
1) Remove the motor cover:
Remove battery
Remove screw with Torx 20
Pull the motor cover downwards

2) Disconnect the plug from the speed sensor:
Disconnect the speed sensor plug
The speed sensor socket has a gray-green marking (here using the example of a Performance Line CX)
If this socket is not occupied, the tuning module is not compatible (rim magnet).

3) Plug in the tuning module:
Insert the disconnected plug from the speed sensor into the socket on the Wiesel tuning module. Insert the plug from the Wiesel tuning module into the engine.
