Installation Yamaha

Preparation

The tuning module is inserted between the speed sensor of your eBike and the motor. It is therefore not visible from the outside and disappears into the motor. However, the motor must be opened in any case. But that sounds worse than it actually is. The motor is folded down a little and all the necessary plugs are accessible.

To be on the safe side, remove the battery before installing it.

You should carry out this first test after installation.

The first step is to remove the 4 screws (marked with red arrows) on the skid plate of the engine, which are screwed from below. The side screws do not need to be loosened here:

The two front screws of the skid plate
The two rear screws of the skid plate

The 2 upper screws of the motor must then be removed:

The lower screw of the motor is now slightly loosened but not removed. This serves as a hinge, so to speak:

On other Yamaha models, the screws of the skid plate and / or the 3 screws of the engine mount may still be under a cover. This must then also be removed beforehand.

The motor can now be folded down. Be careful not to jam any cables. Now carefully pull the cables out of the frame tube. The plug connection with the 3 contacts (marked red) is now disconnected. Press in the clip with a screwdriver and disconnect the plug.

The Wiesel tuning module now comes in between:

First test

Tuning is activated by default. After switching on, the eBike will display a speed of approx. 20 km/h for a few seconds to signal this.

You can set this displayed speed more precisely with a calibration.

Have a good trip!
