Generations 1 through 4 are supported. All models within these generations are supported.

How to Identify a Bosch Smart System

The easiest way: via the display

A Bosch Smart System is present if one of these displays or control elements is installed:

• Kiox 300, 400C, or 500
• Intuvia 100
• Purion 200 or 400
• LED Remote
• System Controller + Mini Remote
• SmartphoneGrip (with the Flow app)

Additional note about the battery:
A Bosch battery with a capacity of 750 Wh or 800 Wh is a sign of a Smart System.

Typically, a Smart System is not present if one of these classic Bosch displays is installed:

• Purion (first generation, not Purion 200)
• Intuvia ( first generation, not Intuvia 100)
• Kiox (first generation, not the Kiox 300/500)
• Nyon 1 or 2
• SmartphoneHub

How to tell if your vehicle is equipped with ABS

• ABS symbol when turning on: When you start the e-bike, an ABS message appears on the display.
• ABS warning light on the control panel: Depending on the vehicle's equipment, there is an ABS indicator on the control panel.
• Check the sales documentation: Bosch eBike ABS is often listed in the bicycle’s product or sales documentation.
• Check the service log: Bosch eBike ABS may also be listed in the service log or service records.
• ABS component on the fork: A small ABS module is often mounted on the fork.

Bosch Smart System with ABS

There is currently no compatible module available for e-bikes equipped with the Bosch Smart System and ABS.

Is there a rim magnet installed on the rear wheel?

Introduction

Please check the rear wheel near the valve first.
A rim magnet may be visible on the valve or hidden within this area of the rim.

If such a magnet is installed, no external speed sensor is used.
In addition, there is no magnet on the spokes and no magnet on the brake disc.

1. Visible rim magnet on the rear valve

On some e-bikes, the rim magnet is visible and mounted directly on the rear valve.

2. Hidden rim magnet in the rim

On some models, particularly KTMs, the rim magnet is not directly visible.
In this case, the magnet is integrated into the rim near the rear valve.

Here's how to check:
Hold a small piece of iron near the area around the rear valve.
If the piece of iron is magnetically attracted there, a rim magnet is installed.

3. Additional check: Check for a blind plug on the speed sensor connector

E-bikes equipped with a rim magnet do not use an external speed sensor. For this reason, a blank plug is often inserted into the speed sensor socket (marked in gray/green). This check serves as additional confirmation.

WT-Bosch-Smart

Compatible with all e-bikes equipped with the Bosch Smart System that do not have a rim magnet.

Additional check: Check the external speed sensor on the motor

If there is no wheel magnet installed, speed is measured using an external speed sensor. You can usually tell this by the presence of a magnet on the spokes or on the brake disc.

The speed sensor connector is gray at the front and plugs into the gray/green-marked socket on the motor. The tuning module is plugged in between these two components. If this connector is present, this tuning module will fit.

Determine the motor variant for the Bosch Smart System with a rim magnet

Please check the engine designation in the sales documents, the service log, or the Bosch Flow app. This will indicate whether a BDU37or BDU38 engine is installed.

In the Bosch Flow app, you can find this under Settings (gear icon) > Components > Drive unit:

Additional note:

100 Nm indicates a BDU38. 85 Nm, on the other hand, is not conclusive, as a BDU38 motor may initially be shipped with 85 Nm. The decisive factor is therefore the motor designation in the Flow app, the workshop log, or the sales documentation.

Both versions are compatible with the Bosch Performance Line CX motor with Smart System. Other motor versions, such as the Bosch SX, are not currently supported.

This tuning module is compatible with:

• Performance Line CX
• BDU38

If your e-bike meets these criteria, this is the right module for you.

If you are unsure, please double-check the motor designation in the Bosch Flow app, the workshop log, or the sales documentation.

Additional control:
In this version, speed is measured using a rim magnet. There is no external speed sensor.

Important:
Other motor models, such as the Bosch SX, are not supported by this module.
